Welcome to Leaps & Bounds Capel.

We provide a specialised and engaging preschool program with extended hours for 40 children per day. Throughout the day the children will play, sing, dance, create, paint, explore, investigate, story tell and get messy!

Our preschool & childcare centre is dedicated to nurturing your child and their unique passions while helping them to grow, develop and learn. Our emphasis is on learning through play while building secure, lasting relationships and resilience. We aim to provide a home away from home for your child and hope that Leaps & Bounds Preschool & Childcare will be an extension of your family.

Capel

The Capel preschool & childcare is a converted house that will be beautifully renovated to provide the perfect learning environment for your child. We enrol children aged 6 weeks – 5 years and are open 7am – 6.00pm. We are conveniently located just around the corner from Capel Primary School.

Our program

Our program includes all of the developmental domains: physical, cognitive, language, social, emotional and spiritual.

We value play as a medium for all aspects of development and learning and believe that play should be integrated across all developmental domains and curriculum areas. Since children learn best by doing, they paint, make, sing, dance, dig, plant, and water in a secure and happy home like environment under the guidance of caring and encouraging educators.

Leaps & Bounds Preschool values the importance of effective communication with/between families. We do this in a number of different ways:

    Xplor Playground is the online, convenient medium we use to communicate with a family regarding your childs day, educational goals, progress and learning.

    Policies and procedures are conveniently located in our reception area. Please feel free to look through the folder at any time or ask a staff member if you require assistance.

  • The Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)

    The QIP is a document that highlights the dedication the service has to continually improving. This document is located in the reception area and may be viewed at any time by parents and families.

  • We absolutely love Leaps & Bounds Preschool Highgate and would recommend it to anyone looking for childcare. This is our daughters 3rd daycare & sons 2nd and by far the best we have seen and experienced. The transition went so smoothly with the staff and on the first few days our children got to spend with each other so they always felt safe which meant a lot for us as parents. Our son is more settled than he ever was at his previous day-care and each morning it is such a calm and welcoming environment for the both of them. Drop off’s have never been so easy & it is such a joy to see the kids so settled and happy. They always talk about their friends & teachers when they get home and look forward to going again each day.   • We feel so very fortunate to have our 2 children attend Leaps and Bounds Preschool. From the moment we walked in, we felt ‘part of the family.’ The carers are all so friendly and approachable and make sure that we are kept involved and informed about the children’s progress every step of the way. The centre itself is warm and inviting, the activities offered to the children are interesting and varied with staff dedicated to extending the children’s thirst for knowledge in the areas they show interest in.   • Both my children love attending Leaps and Bounds Preschool. Throughout their time at the Preschool they have established good friendships with other children and carers. The student groups form quite a little team and my youngest can name everyone in her class by first and last name. Furthermore, the programs delivered give students the opportunity to learn new skills and ideas as well as play and explore the natural environment. My children particularly love getting involved in the garden. I really like the student lead learning that is so evident in everyday activities and lessons.
